About Me
Now, entering the mellowing down years, I find myself painting less of what I think is marketable and much more of what pleases and excites me. I love fun imagery; my grandkids, realistic and mouthwatering paintings of food and playful, unexpected combinations of imagery. I have worked in several mediums: etching, lithography, block printing, egg tempera, colored pencil, pastel, acrylics, and the medium I have completely fallen in love with - oil.
I studied English Literature at Concordia University in Montreal and received a BA in 1977. I then majored in printmaking at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and received a BFA in 1983. I am a Signature Member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and have won several awards in national, juried exhibitions and local shows. I was honored by inclusion in a book by Ann Kullberg entitled: Colored Pencil Masterworks from Around the Globe. I have been fortunate to have studied under some fine professors at UMass and more recently to have taken workshops with: Margaret Dyer, David Dunlop, Will McCarthy, Patti Mollica, Frank Federico, Koo Schadler, Charley Solvek, Dreama Tolle Perry, Liz Kenyon, Janie Gildow, Ann Kullberg, Cecile Baird and Christine Camilleri. My work is held in private collections throughout the United States |
