That's colored pencil??? ......this is one of my favorite questions........ I love it when a viewer has to ask what is the medium and when told, has to step in close to examine the artwork, still a little disbelieving - that a thin drawing tool can achieve such smooth, saturated color. In many of my colored pencil paintings, by using heavily applied, multi-layers of pigment, I am able to achieve effects that imitate the look of photo-realism. At other times I prefer the softer look of less densely applied pigment.
Portrait of My Parents This is my most recent colored pencil painting. Completed in March of 2016.
